Dear Friends,

I’m indeed delighted to learn that the workshop hosted by JPIBC for Northern Luzon region has gone on well. Congratulations! Needless to say, all of you who are responsible for organizing such an important event and the intentions of our shared biblical pastoral ministries are part of my daily prayers. May your tribe increase and the commitment to the Word grow from strength to strength!

Here at Nemi (Rome), the Dei Verbum training program 2007 is already into the fifth week and is progressing well. There are 23 participants in all this year, from 12 countries – a wonderful group. The course will be wound up on Dec 5, 07. Please say a prayer for the success of this ministry.

Thanks! With best wishes to all,

Yours devotedly in Jesus,

Dear Doms and all friends,

thanks for challenging us to be with you in fraternal prayer during the double biblical event.

I noted the dates and the times; be assured that we – I ask the confreres here to pray with all of us – accompany you with our prayer.

Thanks for sharing with us so many aspects of the two seminars, plus the names of the resource persons.

Greetings to Bishop Nonoy and Oscar!

Yesterday we buried two dear confreres: brother Flor Robben was almost every Sunday my companion at the 10.30 eucharist, and father Piet van der Thiel was my teacher in the minor seminary.

I keep on walking with you!

Fraternally!

Wim

Dear Doms, Fely and JPIBC Team,

Greetings from Hong Kong ! Congratulations for the construction of the very interesting JPIBC website!

Today, I helped in the third session of the 70th BBS organised by the Hong Kong Filipino Catholic Biblical Pastoral Ministry (HKFCBPM), giving inputs on “ Bible Sharing & Community Building ” and “Interpreting Life in the Light of the Bible”. I also shared a copy of the Silver Edition with the officers of HKFCBPM. The BBS participants are enjoying the seminar and feel very excited about having the presence of the originator of BBS, Fr. Ludger, to celebrate their graduation on October 28. Since the birth of HKFCBPM in 1990, I have been their close biblical companion. The community always introduces me to BBS participants saying: “Though she has a Chinese face, she also has a Filipino heart!” In our upcoming Eighth United Chinese Catholic Biblical Association (UCCBA) Meeting which will take place from November 1 to 5 in Macau, I also play a special role to represent HKFCBPM to include its contribution to the biblical pastoral ministry in our HK Group’s Presentation on “Experiences of Community Building with the Word of God”, alongside the biblical motto: “God’s Word is active and alive!” (Heb 4:12) This representation in our Macau Meeting makes our fellow Filipino co-servants of the Word in Hong Kong happily feel themselves also being a part of our Chinese biblical family in Christ. What a nice development brought about by the power of the Word of Life!

I read Fely’s reflections on “A Basic Bible Seminar Experience” with much interest. I would love to receive a copy of “The Exodus Story for Lay Ministers of the Word” Manual.

Tomorrow (October 1) is China ’s National Day. Please pray for the continued growth of the biblical apostolate in this vast country of 1.3 billion Chinese people, as this year we celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Venerable Fr. Gabriel Maria Allegra OFM, who founded the Studium Biblicum in Beijing in 1945 to fulfil the holy task of giving birth to our Chinese Holy Bible, translated from the original languages of Hebrew and Greek, on December 25, 1968.

Let’s continue to journey together with the Word and support each other in prayers.

Dear Fr. Doms, Fely, Flor, Zusan and Joel,

Warm greetings from George, Dei Verbum Centre, Nemi (Rome)!

I’m indeed delighted to learn that you at the John Paul I Biblical Center have created a blog site. It’s my earnest wish and prayer that through your online newspaper more and more people would be drawn to Jesus, and they, in turn, like you yourselves, become active and effective ministers of Word. . . . May God bless you all and your biblical and pastoral ministry!

With best wishes,

Dear Fr. Doms,

Many thanks for your prayers offered for the BBS last week.  It worked; it was a success!  I had fears on how to conduct the BBS to over fifty priests and 12 sisters!  . . . . . I asked them to set aside what they’ve learned and just be open to the Spirit and wait for God’s surprise.  They did as they were told and indeed God gave them lots of surprises!  Next month my schedule is hectic, I’ll be needing prayers once again. I will send my time table before the end of this week as I am still waiting for two confirmations.  Again most of the participants will be priests and sisters. Your website is interesting!  Thanks for sharing. Regards to all there.

Gratefully yours,

Sr. Tammy

Fr. Doms,

I am Emy Riguera, originally from San Vicente Ilocos Sur and a co-announcer of Jun in DZPA in the early 80s and I am so sorry to hear about him.  Right now, I am in the US and have plans to go back to broadcasting in the Philippines. I am not sure if you are residing in Mizamis or in Nueva Segovia — in the Major (as we used to call ICST).  Regards and if you have a chance, please extend my regards to Fr. William Antonio.  The last time I saw him was when he was a pursuing higher studies at the Catholic university of America.

Dear JPIBC Staff,

Congratulations!

Reading the blog was an early Easter news for me. I tried to give an earlier feedback through the blog but I made an error. So I give my reply here.John Paul I is truly first in many ways: 1st Regional Biblical Center and now first in making a blog as a center. Congratulations for sharing the wonders of the Word in Northern Luzon and the Cordillera through the Biblical-Pastoral Ministry.  I was able to make a quick visit to the all the dioceses in the Blog …I could hear the laughter, the music, the joys, the noise and I saw the excitement and the different movements of the children, youth and adults in their efforts to allow the Word to move through their bodies, their groups etc. May the Risen Lord continue to shower upon all the Directors and the Lay Coordinators as well as the staff and volunteers all the necessary graces and blessings they need particularly this Easter. Your zeal in spreading the Living Word keeps inspiring us and so many people here and abroad.  As we await the ordination of the new Bishop of Bangued, we pray that we will have an additional Shepherd in the Cordillera who will inspire the people of God especially in Abra to live by the Word.

In the Risen Lord,

The JPIBC,

Congratulations for your new blog. I like the pictures….I remember when i was a regent at St. Joseph seminary in Bangued when I also participated the “Hearts of Fire” celebration. It was already very well coordinated and participated already that time, some 22 years ago. I’m sure it is a lot better now.

Dear Friends at JPIBC,

I would like to congratulate you very sincerely for the new venture: jp1bc.wordpress.com. Excellent! It seems that with all the materials and pictures you had available that time now has come to put it all together. Still, I can imagine, it takes a lot of time, reflection, trying-out etc. to do just that! But you have the talents. Well, we did not have the technical means for all this years ago when we started the Center. I recall the humble beginnings with the mimeographed first issues of WORD ALIVE.

God bless you all,
