NEW DIRECTOR OF JPIBC

Rev. Fr. Jaimelito “Nilo” Gealan, SVD the 6th director of the John Paul I Biblical Center meaningfully received this afternoon at 3:00 o’clock (May 12 Monday) the responsibility of continuing the mission of the Biblical Center for Northern Luzon. In the context of a bible sharing led by no other than the bishop chairman himself Most Rev. Renato P. Mayugba, DD, all members of the administrative board together with the whole staff of the JPIBC welcomed with profound joy the newly appointed director. The gospel of the day taken from Mark 8:11-13 (The Demand for a Sign) set the spirit of welcoming Fr. Nilo and sending-off of the out-going director Fr. Doms O. Ramos, SVD after serving the center for six years.

Present during the celebration were the Administrative Board: Most Rev. Renato P. Mayugba, DD the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan, Fr. Efren Ambre the vice chairman from the Diocese of Bangued, Fr. Ariosto Mina the trustee from the Diocese of Alaminos, Ms. Zusan Asistin the treasurer from the Diocese of San Fernando, Fr. Doms O. Ramos, SVD the out-going executive secretary from the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro with the staff of the JPIBC: Ms. Flordelis Dacguigan of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao (who will be retiring from faithful service effective May 15, 2008), Ms. Felicidad Perpetua Gines of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia (the pioneer) and Mr. Joel Bugtong from the Diocese of Bangued.

At the end of the celebration the bishop handed to Fr. Nilo his official appointment as Director and to Ms. Zusan Asistin as the Treasurer of the JPIBC in the presence of the Rector of the Immaculate Conception School of Theology Rev. Fr. John Habawel of the Apostolic Vicariate of Bontoc-Lagawe.

We pray for the success of the mission of Fr. Nilo and for the staff of the John Paul I Biblical Center!

  3. Ading Heartnoi,

Congratulations for being appointed as Director of the historic JPIBC, the mother of Regional Biblical Centers in the Philippines. You are the sixth Director. And the youngest Director. Continue to share your youthful dynamism so you energize the biblical-pastoral ministry in Northern Luzon and the Cordillera. I pray that your heart will be so on fire with God’s Word as you fire up people with the Word.

I would like to follow up our request for a possible workshop on Bible Translation which can be integrated in WABI or which can be given sometime in Sept-October. It would be nice also to follow up our statement in CDO regarding the upcoming election preparation 2010, the issues on Corruption, and your comments regarding the suggested themes for the National Bible week. If you have time tomorrow we can have a phone consultation.

Our Server is not yet fully restored. I am in SM to send you ths email. Nakakatense. Sige po, all the best and regards to our cnfreres and to the JPIBC staff.

    In the Word,
    Paji
